In your psot, you say there are two choices of materials, crystalline silicon and amorphous silicon. In essence, that is true, but crystalline solar can be divided into two (actually three, but I’ll stick to the most common ones) varieties: monocrystalline and polycrystalline. Solar cells made of monocrystalline consist of one large crystal of silicon. They are more efficient, but also more expensive than the polycrystalline-based cells, which consist of shards of silicon.
